Designed by architect Jorma Järvi, the Swimming Stadium was built for the 1940 Olympic Games, which – due to the outbreak of war – were cancelled. It later went on to host part of the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games.

Cash desks close at 20.00, swimming time ends at 20.30, and washing time at 20.45. Customers must leave the area by 21.00.

To speed up entry, use the payment machines. You can purchase swimming tickets from the payment machines for adults and children (no others). The machines accept coins and notes from 10 cents to €20 and give change. Lockers are available in the changing rooms Make sure you have a 50 cent coin as a key deposit

- A photography permit from the Sports Facilities Section is required for photography
