Helsinki has a variety of recreational parks around the city and by the sea. The Helsinki Sports Services manages the islands and seaside recreational areas near the city or in neighbouring municipalities. These areas are open to the public and can also be rented. Water traffic to the recreational islands is divided into line traffic and small cruise lines, which are managed by private operators.

Ahti will help discovering Helsinki archipelago with one app

Helsinki City is developing a new service that gathers the possibilities of archipelago on one single platform. Ahti is a mobile optimized web page where user can find information, services, routes and for example boat rides. The idea is to inspire people to go and explore the possibilities of Helsinki archipelago, whether you own a boat or not.

Ahti is now in its beta phase and collecting feedback. You can test the beta version in English at If the feedback is positive enough, Ahti is planned to be ready for Helsinki Biennial in summer 2020.
