Rapids licences
Fees and fishing shifts
- From the beginning of January to the end of April €10 4 months ("rospuuttolupa" – off-season licence)
- From the beginning of April to the end of September €10 for 12 hours per person, shift changes at 6.00 and 18.00
- From the beginning of July to 14 September €10 for 6 hours per person, shift changes at 6.00, 12.00, 18.00 and 24.00
- From 11 September to the end of the year €10 for 6 hours per person, shift changes on the lower rapids at 7.00 and 13.00. Fishing is not allowed anywhere on the rapids from 19.00 to 7.00.
- Fishing is by trodding on even days and by fly fishing on odd days.

- Licences can only be bought and not reserved in advance. The status of sold licences can be enquired at tel. 09 310 87777. Licences cannot be reserved by telephone.
- When buying a licence, an 18- to 64-year-old must present the receipt of the fishing management fee payment; if buying more than one licences, all related receipts must be presented.
- A licence is personal and must not be passed on to another person.
- The licence and receipt of the fishing management fee payment must always be carried when fishing and presented to the supervisor on request.
- During the autumn protection period on the lower rapids, the maximum hook diameter is 8mm. There is a quota of two hooks; each bend is considered one hook.
- Meri-Info payment only by cards. Ruoto shop also accepts cards.

Backwater licences

Prices for Helsinki residents and City of Helsinki employees
- €5 for day per person
- €20 for year per person

Visitors
- €10 for day, €15 for week and €40 for year
- The visitor fishing licence covers all City of Helsinki water areas except for Vanhankaupunginkoski.

Instructions
- A backwater licence is only required for fishers aged 18 and older.
- The licence covers trodding, angling and fly fishing, as well as permission to hand-net whitefish from 11 September to 31 December.
- The number of backwater licences is not limited.
- Non-Helsinki residents can buy a visitor fishing licence.
- Backwater licences are sold only at Meri-Info, tel. 09 310 87777, 0400 449 759 and on www.kalakortti.com
- Fishing is not allowed from boats, bridges and rings in the backwater and rapids areas.
