City of Helsinki fishing licence

If you only fish in the water areas of the City of Helsinki, you only need a licence issued by the City of Helsinki.

- Issued for Helsinki residents and City of Helsinki employees
- Issued for a calendar year

Fish trap
- €13 each, max. 2 licences per household

Longline
- €13 per 100 hooks, max. 1 licence per household

Diving fishing
- €13 per person for calendar year

Bait hooks
- €13 for 10 hooks, max. 10 licences per household

- €13 per person for calendar year

Net
- €13 each, max. 4 licences per household

Trolling
- €13 per person for calendar year
- Including fishing lines drawn through water and fly fishing
- The number of rods is not limited except for whitefish (3 rods) and in fish sprawning grounds in June (1 rod).
- The licence is personal.
- The licence is valid in the Vantaa River water areas governed by the City of Vantaa if the river area forms the border between Helsinki and Vantaa.

Helsinki-Espoo trolling licence
- Sold only to Helsinki and Espoo residents
- €17 / per person for calendar year
- Including fishing lines drawn through water and fly fishing
- The number of rods is not limited except for whitefish (3 rods) and in sprawning grounds in June (1 rod).
- The licence is personal.
- The licence covers sea areas and maritime recreational areas (not the rapids of the Vantaa River or inland recreational areas).

Non-Helsinki residents and foreign nationals
Visitor fishing licence: €10 per day, €15 per week and €40 per year

- Valid for calendar year
- Visitors are not issued licences for immobile traps.
- 18- to 64-year-olds must pay the Finnish State fishing management fee of €7 per week or €22 per calendar year
