In many cases the police will help in securing a stray animal. If your pet has run off, contact the home for strays. If you suspect that the animal you have found has been abandoned, also contact the city of Helsinki animal protection veterinarian.
Injured animals from the wild can be taken to Korkeasaari Zoo and placed in quarantine section. Animals that need care will be received when the zoo is open. Rehabilitated animals will be released back to nature.
Korkeasaari Zoo cannot collect the animals.
