Pupils from other municipalities
All pupils whose official residence is in another municipality but who are living in Helsinki are entitled to comprehensive education organized by the City of Helsinki.
Pupils living in other municipalities can be admitted to Helsinki schools space allowing after the schools have placed all Helsinki pupils. Pupils living in other municipalities are admitted to Helsinki schools according to principles of secondary admission. Admission to weighted-curriculum education requires that the pupil has passed the aptitude test for the subject in question.
A Swedish-speaking pupil whose municipality of residence does not offer Swedish-language education is entitled to comprehensive education organized by the City of Helsinki. The pupil’s municipality of residence must have an agreement on primary education with the City of Helsinki.
