Information for civic organizations

The City of Helsinki annually subsidizes Helsinki civic organizations – associations, societies, citizen groups and other non-profit organizations – with about 60 million euro. Applications for subsidies and all other electronic transactions with the City are focused in the asiointi.hel.fi-e-service.

Notices to the Register of Associations including registration forms, changes to articles of association and termination notices can be submitted online on the pages of the National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland. Use of the service requires registration with the online banking ID and codes.

Venues for meetings and other events can be searched for on the MyHelsinki pages. Facilities are available for a variety of purposes from many providers:

• School facilities for evening and weekend activities available from Education Department
• Sports and meeting facilities available from Sports Department
• Meeting and leisure facilities available from Helsinki City Library
  City public libraries also provide exhibition space free of charge.
• Venues for exhibitions, cultural performances and activities available from Cultural Office
• Facilities available for youth organizations
  The Youth Department maintains a network of about 100 facilities.
