Description:
Kamppi sports centre is a diverse hub for physical activity that offers opportunities for team and individual sports and independent training. The sports centre has a sports hall, exercise room and a small swimming pool, which offer good conditions for aerobics, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and budo arts. As a rule, the sports centre is reserved for the activities of sports clubs and organisations. It is not available for individuals or independent practice.

Accessibility

The route to the main entrance

  • The 3 accessible parking spaces are located outdoors over 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is less than 3.6 m.
  • The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide.

The main entrance

  • The entrance is hard to perceive
  • The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with a motion sensor.
  • The entrance has thresholds over 2 cm high.

In the facility

  • The sports facilities are located on floor -1.
  • For moving around, there is a lift cramped for wheelchair users; the door opens automatically. The floor numbers in the lift cannot be felt with fingers. The button for the exit floor stands out from the other buttons. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
  • The facility has an accessible toilet on the same floor as the entrance.
  • The customer service/cashier's desk is located on the same floor as the entrance.
  • The customer service/cashier's desk can be found easily. The desk is accessible to customers standing only.
  • At the customer service/cashier's desk, you can borrow a shower wheelchair, rollator walker.

Dressing room, shower room and sauna

  • The dressing rooms are located on the same floor as the sports facilities.
  • The facility does not have an accessible dressing room. The men's/women's dressing rooms must be used instead. The door of the dressing room opens easily manually.
  • The dressing room has little room for a wheelchair and assistant. Good illumination and clear contrasts facilitate spatial perception. There are lockers in the dressing room. An accessible toilet is connected to the dressing room.
  • The shower room is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door of the shower room opens easily manually.
  • The sauna is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door opens easily manually.
  • The sauna has room for one wheelchair.

Sports facilities

  • Room is available next to the pools for storing aids during swimming.
  • The whirlpool bath features accessible entry via gently-sloping steps. The steps have handrails on both sides.
  • A separate teaching pool is not available. Teaching is provided in various pools depending on the situation.
  • An accessible toilet is not available in the pool area.
