City of Helsinki's indoor sports facilities are closed due Covid-19 restrictions.

Sports Services manages three ice rinks, two at Pirkkola Sports park and one at Oulunkylä Sports park. There are also several ice rinks, managed by other operators, in Helsinki.

The route to the main entrance

  • The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
  • The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide.
  • The passage has 2 consecutive steps.

The main entrance

  • The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
  • The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with a motion sensor.
  • The entrance has thresholds over 2 cm high.
  • The foyer is cramped.

In the facility

  • The entrance, sports facilities and dressing rooms are located on the same floor.
  • The customer service/cashier's desk can be found easily. The desk is accessible to customers standing only.

Dressing room, shower room and sauna

  • The facility does not have an accessible dressing room. The men's/women's dressing rooms must be used instead. The door of the dressing room opens easily manually.
  • The dressing room has sufficient room for a wheelchair and assistant. Good illumination and clear contrasts facilitate spatial perception. There are lockers in the dressing room.
  • The shower room is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door of the shower room opens easily manually.
  • The facility does not have a sauna.

Sports facilities

  • The rink of the ice stadium features accessible entry through the maintenance gate. The side areas of the rink have room for storing aids. The sides of the rink have been highlighted with contrast. Disabled persons have unobstructed view of the rink from the penalty box.
  • Accessible means for accessing the equipment storerooms and lockers are provided.
