Healthy Boost EU project

The City of Helsinki is featuring as a pilot city in the EU Regional Development Fund’s project Healthy Boost – Urban Labs for Better Health for All in the Baltic Sea Region – boosting cross-sectoral cooperation for health and wellbeing in the cities. The project seeks to create a collaboration model that works across sectors to enhance health and wellbeing in the Baltic Sea Region.

The Helsinki pilot aims to strengthen the participation of under-represented groups in social activities and decision-making, and to build equal opportunities for influence to improve wellbeing. The pilot will be implemented as part of the 2020 participatory budgeting process and will focus on citizen involvement.

Finland is represented in the project by the City of Helsinki, the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, and the City of Turku. The other countries represented are Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Sweden.

The project will continue until 30 June 2021.
