The Library of Urban Statistics and Research is open to the public and specialises in Helsinki-related statistics and research and functions as an information service.
The central collection of the library consists of publications prepared in the various offices of the city. The collection also contains national statistics, statistical publications on European cities as well as publications related to urban research. Information service on the statistics concerning Helsinki is an essential part of the library operations. You can send a short information request concerning statistics of Helsinki using the feedback form.
The publications can be borrowed by anyone. Interlibrary loans are sent to other libraries from the collections.
Literature on Helsinki’s history is mainly accessible in the reference library of the City Archives, where it can be studied in the Researchers’ Room. Documents of the reference library cannot be lent home or as interlibrary loans. The City Archives are located at Eläintarhantie 3 F (Kallio public office building).
