Senior Citizen Groups at Service Centres

If you would like some relief from loneliness, anxiety or mild depression, you can seek help at Senior Citizen Groups.

These groups take the form of therapeutic discussion groups. At the group meetings, you can share experiences, feelings and thoughts, as well as gaining new perspectives on them. In the groups, everyone is given the time and space to talk. Conversations are confidential. You can also strike up new friendships at senior citizen groups.

Each group meets once a week for 1.5 hours each time, a total of 15 times. Each meeting has its own theme.

Before partaking in the group activities, you will be asked to meet with the instructor one-on-one. At this meeting, you can discuss whether the group could help you with your current life situation. The groups are led by group instructors trained by HelsinkiMissio.
