The City environment sector's Environmental Health unit is responsible for monitoring the health conditions of public spaces, such as daycare centres, schools, educational institutes, and other common areas.
Inspections related to the eventual health hazards are performed through planned and regular monitoring, as well as on request by the users and customers.
If a health hazard is suspected, the primary contact should be the principal of the school, director of the daycare centre, owner of the property, or the body responsible for the maintenance (usually the building manager).
In case of any disputes regarding the existence of the hazard or the need for repair, the City environment sector's Environmental Health unit as the municipal health protection authority may perform the required inspection and process the matter.
