Aurora Mobile Outpatient Unit

The Aurora Mobile Outpatient Unit is the multidisciplinary outreach outpatient care working group of Helsinki's psychiatric services.

The working group provides intensive psychiatric outpatient care for patients referred to it from housing services units and psychiatric outpatient and hospital care.

The unit's target group consists of patients suffering from repeated psychotic episodes, patients who repeatedly fail to commit to outpatient care and patients suffering from schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder for whom other treatment methods have been deemed inadequate.

The treatment is planned flexibly based on the individual needs of the patient and carried out in the patient's own living environment. The aim is to prevent the recurrence of psychotic episodes and repeated hospital care: the patient is provided with comprehensive support in outpatient care.
