Work ability assessment

The basic purpose of the work ability assessment is to review and assess the work and functional abilities of referred customers between the ages 18 to 63 and their options for receiving rehabilitation and a pension.

An employee at the social service office or employment services will refer the customer for a Work Ability Assessment with a separate referral, attached to which is the customer's signed approval for sharing the information.

After the initial assessment made by a social worker, the customer is referred for possible examinations. Based on these examinations, a specialist doctor will make a B statement, in which the doctor assesses the customer's work abilities and functional abilities, as well as prerequisites for rehabilitation.

Together with the customer, the social worker is in charge of ensuring the progression of the work ability assessment and that the customer is referred for further measures.

Customers between the ages 18 to 63 years, who are referred to the service and whose work abilities, functional abilities and possibilities for receiving a pension need to be assessed.

The service is intended for residents of Helsinki.
