Private family daycare is care for children under school age in small groups. Characteristic of this type of daycare is care in a home environment, primary care, play and low stress levels.
The provider of private family daycare makes the selection of children. The care provider determines the daycare fee in the daycare agreement. Families can apply for a private family daycare allowance from Kela (Social Insurance Institution of Finland) to cover the fee.
Information on local private family daycare providers is available from the area¿s municipal family daycare supervisor.
