Rehabilitating work activities

The purpose of rehabilitating work activities is to improve the customer's life management skills and create good conditions for finding employment.

The rehabilitating work activities are based on the Act concerning rehabilitating work activities. Rehabilitating work activities are adapted, in accordance with the customer's work skills and functional abilities, so that it supports and promotes their working abilities. Rehabilitating work activities are primarily organised in three month periods, and take from one to four days a week, at least 4 hours at a time.

You can apply for rehabilitating work activities via as a client of Helsingin TYP or via the service point for adult social work.

During the rehabilitating work activities, the customer receives either a labour market subsidy or an income support payment and maintenance compensation, and it is based on an activating plan, compiled together with the customer. Rehabilitating work activities are arranged at city's own units, at organisations and companies the city purchases services from.

The services are free of charge for the customers.

Prerequisites:

The services are intended for people, who have been unemployed for a long time, who have trouble finding their own place in the job market or who need other, specialised support measures, in order to find employment.

The service is only for citizens of Helsinki.
