Investigation, assessment and placement (SAS)

The SAS (investigation, assessment and placement) Office coordinates the City of Helsinki's care pathways.

The assessments and decisions regarding 24-hour care for the elderly as well as younger patients suffering from multiple illnesses in accordance with the Social Welfare Act are made in the SAS Office.

The office is also responsible for organising competitive tendering for purchased 24-hour care services and quality control. In addition to this, the SAS office has care work expertise that can be utilised by other care units.


The service is only for citizens of Helsinki.
