Support person activities

The child or young person can have positive experiences with the support person. The support person usually meets the child or young person twice a month for leisure activities.

The service is intended for children, young people and families who are in need of special support or who are clients of child welfare and have a limited support network.

We select the support persons based on a suitability interview and train them for the task.

You can discuss applying for the service with your designated social worker and apply for the service with the worker if the application criteria are met.

The service is free of charge.

Prerequisites:

A child or a young person, who is a client of the child welfare services and who needs the support of a safe adult.

The service is only for citizens of Helsinki.
