A hospitalized patient at the compulsory education age is entitled to instruction. The provision of instruction for the patient is determined jointly by the hospital school, the hospital staff and the patient's guardian(s).
For health-related reasons, instruction can be organized differently from the manner prescribed by the Basic Education Act. Instruction is organized so that the patient can move back to his/her school after hospitalization ends.
