City Board, general grant application

The City Board awards grants on an annual basis to organisations, whose operations do not belong to the sphere of authority of a particular committee.

Process:

The City Board awards grants on an annual basis to organisations, whose operations do not belong to the sphere of authority of a particular committee.

General grants may be applied for by registered organisations, which have been operational for at least a year, and whose operations are aimed for the benefit of the people of Helsinki.

1. General grant decisions are made by the City Council, the City Board or the Mayor.
2. The applicant will be informed about the decision by mail.
3. The grant awarded will be paid to the bank account of the applicant foundation.
4. A report concerning the use of the grant must be provided with next year's application. Even if the grant is not applied for the next year, a report must still be provided. In the latter case, the report may be made using the message feature.

Expiration date:

Optional grants may be applied for all year round. Once an application has been sent in, is valid until the decision has been made.

More information:

A new application for the same purpose replaces the old application, if sent within the prescribed time limit. Budget grant applications must be filed by the end of April of the preceding year. The specific filing date is announced annually in the city's public announcement.
