Demand for rectification of personal data

According to EU General Data Protection Regulation a person has the right to demand that the city rectifies inaccurate personal data. They shall have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement.

A person whose personal data is collected in a city register when he or she uses the services of the city can demand a rectification of his/her own data through this service. Demand for rectification of personal data can also be made by a guardian, a trustee or an authorised representative.

Process:

When a demand for rectification of personal data is sent, it will alert the assembler of the chosen division, department or municipally owned company. A person can demand supplements to insufficient personal data and provide further clarification as an attachment.

Processing time:

An answer to a demand for rectification of personal data is delivered at the latest one month after the demand.

Expiration date:

Demands for rectification are valid until they are answered.

Being a customer of a city service, in which personal data is collected. A demand for rectification of personal data requires strong identification.

Process:

When a demand for rectification is sent, it will alert the assembler of the chosen division, department or municipally owned company. The assembler of the data requests sends a note of the demand to the contact person of the register electronically. No decision is made in the case. The person who makes the demand may be asked to supplement the demand and he or she can send attachments in support of the demand. The person who makes the demand receives information on whether the demand is accepted or not by secure e-mail or by post. An answer is delivered at the latest one month after the demand.

The demand is valid until it is answered. The person who makes the demand may send a new demand, by which he or she may repeal the previous demand or supplement it.
