Special licence required for heavy traffic to Helsinki inner city

Vehicles over 12 metres in length require a special licence to operate in the restricted area of the Helsinki inner city.

Process:

The restricted area covers the entire southern Helsinki up to the Paciuksenkatu- Nordenskiöldinkatu-Teollisuuskatu line excluding the West Harbour, South Harbour and Katajanokka. The restriction does not apply to buses.

The licence should be applied for using a form that can be submitted by e-mail, fax or mail, or in person.

Processing time:

A licence application should be submitted two workdays prior to the intended transportation.

Payments:

The licence is free of charge.
