Information on Helsinki’s health services and treatment instructions are provided 24 hours a day at the cost of a regular phone call.

When local health stations are closed, Emergency Services treat patients in need of urgent care.

Please call in advance before going to the emergency clinic. The service is open 24/7 and free of charge.

Adults (over 16 years of age)

  • Meilahti Emergency Department, Haartman Hospital, Haartmaninkatu 4, building 1
  • Malmi Emergency Department, Talvelantie 6 J
  • When local health stations are closed, residents of Helsinki with serious illnesses and in urgent need of care can also go to the Jorvi Hospital Emergency Department in Espoo, Turuntie 150 or the Peijas Hospital Emergency Department in Vantaa, Sairaalakatu 1.

Do you suspect a coronavirus infection?

You can make a coronavirus assessment at omaolo.fi. Based on your symptoms, you will get instructions on what to do. If necessary, you can book an appointment for a coronavirus test. The Coronavirus Helpline is closed during Independence Day (open regularly Mon-Fri from 8.00–16.00, tel. +358 9 310 10024).

Emergency Dental Care

Emergency dental care is provided on Independence Day, 6 December at Park Hospital, Stenbäckinkatu 9, door C. Appointments can be booked from 8.00–21.00 by calling +358 9 471 71110. Night emergency duty is at Töölö Hospital Emergency Department, Töölönkatu 40, tel. 116 117.
