Hosted by Mayor Juhana Vartiainen, the evening brought together residents of Pihlajamäki, Pihlajisto and Viikinmäki, representatives of the City of Helsinki and partners for a joint discussion. During the evening, residents of the invited areas could ask about topical matters directly from the Mayor of Helsinki, Juhana Vartiainen, and the Heads of Divisions. In addition, the event highlighted topics desired by the residents, which will be collected in advance.

“The Mayor’s resident evening is a good opportunity for a joint discussion, and I encourage anyone who’s interested to participate. You can follow the event and ask questions either on location at Helsingin Uusi yhteiskoulu or online on Helsinki Channel, whichever suits you best,” says Titta Reunanen, Team Leader in Interaction.

A survey was opened in the Kerro Kantasi service where residents could tell what topics and questions they wish to be discussed during the evening. The survey was open to everyone. You could also send questions during the event via the message wall through the link available on the Helsinki Channel website. You could also submit questions if you attend remotely.

The resident evening was organised in cooperation with the Pihlajamäki-seura association(Link leads to external service) and the Pihlajisto-Viikinmäki asukasyhdistys PNV ry(Link leads to external service) residents’ association. Local operators and operators of the City of Helsinki introduced themselves to residents at the pop-up market.
