You can apply for summer jobs in Helsinki through the city's recruitment system at The application period is indicated separately for each job. It is a good idea to keep an active eye on the site, as new jobs will be posted almost weekly during the spring.

Many jobs do not require previous work experience – it's more important to have the right studies and a willingness to learn. We recruit summer workers for jobs such as care workers, park workers, kitchen workers, various office and customer service jobs, planner trainees, early childhood education assistants and sports facility maintenance. We are particularly looking for students and professionals from the relevant fields to work in the social services, health and rescue division and the urban environment division.

Companies owned by the city also offers summer jobs.

Jobs for a thousand young people

We want to give young people the chance to have their first summer job experiences, so we are targeting around 1,000 summer jobs at young people. The application period for jobs for 16–17-year-olds and for 16–20-year-olds for the Tidy Summer! project starts on 6 February and ends on 27 February at 16:00. To apply for youth summer work, you must be 16 or 17 years old during the calendar year and have completed comprehensive school before the summer. If necessary, the work work can be tailored to the person’s competence and physical ability to function.

We are also hiring young people who do not yet have work experience for the Tidy Summer! project. The project’s approximately 270 summer workers will keep parks, squares, pavements, sports and swimming areas clean.
