Network of the six largest cities (C6)

The six largest cities in Finland, Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Vantaa, Oulu and Turku, have long cooperated with the aim of bolstering the urban policy debate and joint advocacy of the cities’ interests.

The six largest cities have 1.8 million inhabitants, accounting for 33 per cent of the country’s total population. Most of Finland’s innovations and 55 per cent of the country’s GDP are produced by these cities.

The cities meet at the mayoral level several times a year.

This close cooperation also extends to the various associated divisions and comparison of urban statistics from the C6 municipalities, for example.
