Helsinki City Council
The City of Helsinki’s highest decision-making body is the City Council, elected in municipal elections every four years.
City Board
The City Board directs City administration, prepares issues for the Council and supervises the execution of Council decisions.
City Board's divisions
The City Board has two sub-groups, the City Group Division and the Economic Development sub-committee.
Committees and boards
Each City secor has a 13-member committee and 1–3 sub-committees.
Office holders (in Finnish)
Office holders are employed by a municipality in a public-service employment relationship.
Helsinki Mayors
The Mayor of Helsinki for the term 2021–2025 is Juhana Vartiainen. The Deputy Mayors are Social Services and Health Care: Daniel Sazonov, Education: Nasima Razmyar, Urban Environment: Anni Sinnemäki and Culture and Leisure: Paavo Arhinmäki.
