Welcome to Arbis!
Welcome to Arbis!
Arbis in Helsinki is the adult education centre with a difference. We are large enough to offer a wide, relevant range of courses yet small enough to give personal service to our students. We do our best to live up to our reputation of being the friendly place to learn. At Arbis you will find courses at all levels, taught by well-qualified and experienced teachers. There are options of day, evening and weekend courses of varying length. Most of the courses offer opportunities to acquire skills and knowledge for the pure pleasure of doing so, but you can also attend courses to prepare for certificates. The students come from all walks of life and all ages. Arbis main building is situated Dagmarinkatu 3, just behind the National museum in the heart of Helsinki and is well served by public transport.
You will also find courses at Stoa, the cultural centre of east Helsinki, just a few steps from Itäkeskus metro station.
Most of our teachers speak English. Sign up for a class and enjoy your creativity!

Reduction of fee
Unemployed people and people with a very low income can apply for a reduced fee. More information from the Arbis office.
Note! Cancellation policies:
Leaving the invoice unpaid is not considered a cancellation. Please remember that a notification to the office is always required if you wish to cancel an enrollment or if you cancel a full-year course which has already started. Informing your teacher is not sufficient.
If you participate in:
- courses with more than 6 class sessions, the course can be cancelled without having to pay the course fee for that term if you do so within the first three weeks of the course.
- courses with 6 or fewer class sessions must be cancelled a week before the course starts to avoid paying the full course fee.
Please not that paid fees are not refundable.
