A temporary train station will open in Pasila on 3 April. The resulting new arrangements may change the routes of train passengers in and around the station. The temporary station will serve until the autumn of 2019, when a new Pasila station, the Tripla commercial complex and a parking facility will be completed. The temporary and the old Pasila stations will both be in use during the spring of 2017. The old station will close in June 2017, and it will be demolished.
Passengers are guided through the temporary station with signs, and the station is equipped with timetable displays and a public address system. All passages are accessible.
The northern underpass of the Pasila station will be in service even when the temporary station is in use. This underpass is equipped with timetable displays and a Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) ticket machine. The northern underpass is the best route to the Messukeskus Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre and to Hartwall Arena.
When the temporary station opens, the elevators and escalators serving the first and last platforms of the old station – platforms 1/2 and 8/9 – will no longer be in service. These platforms can be reached through the stairs and elevators of the temporary station.
During the spring of 2017, the Pasila station’s drop-off and taxi stations will operate at both the Veturitori and Pasila station squares, and bicycle parking will be available at the same locations.
The work at the Pasila station is part of the major Central Pasila urban development project.
