In addition to the lobby services, service point and exhibitions at the City Hall, you can also visit meetings of the City Council and obtain more detailed information on decision-making and its various phases.
The City Council normally meets every second Wednesday. General public can attend the Council meetings from a designated area in the Council’s chamber (Sofiankatu 3). The City Council meetings are all webcast on the Helsinki-channel web channel, and they are available on demand. The meetings can also be watched on the cable channel Stadi.TV(channel 93).
The City of Helsinki Registrar's office is also located at the City Hall. The Registrar's office provides information on the process phases and decisions on matters under discussion at the City Council, the City Board and at various committees. Public announcements concerning the city are displayed in the lower lobby.
The attractive environment of the City Hall in Helsinki’s historic empire-style centre in the market blocks between the Market Square and the Senate Square is well worth a visit. The area also has nice cafes and restaurants, unique stores and historic tourist attractions.
