Private daycare

Parents can opt for private daycare and apply for the Private Daycare Allowance from Kela (Social Insurance Institution of Finland).

The different forms of private daycare:

An application to private daycare is made by contacting the daycare centre directly. The provider of private daycare makes the selection of children, and a daycare agreement is always made between the child's guardian(s) and the service provider.

The daycare provider also determines the daycare fee. All families can apply for the Private Daycare Allowance from Kela to cover the fee.

Private daycare is a safe alternative for families. The Department of Early Education and Care cooperates with private daycare providers supervising and guiding their operations.
