Questions about Helsinki and the City’s services are answered by Virka Info, the public information service of the City of Helsinki. Virka Info offers general information and advice on living and working in the Helsinki area as well as special advice and guidance on immigration issues. Virka Info’s service desk is located in the lobby of Helsinki City Hall. The service provides information and counseling in person, by phone at (+358 09) 310 11 111, and by email at virkainfo@hel.fi.

As part of the operations of Virka Info, the City of Helsinki maintains the Info Bank online information service for immigrants and those contemplating moving to Helsinki. Info Bank provides information on the Internet in 15 languages: Albanian, Arabic, Chinese, Finnish, English, Estonian, French, Kurdish, Persian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Somali, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. The areas covered include Finnish society, local customs, work, education, taxation, spouses and asylym.
