Helsinki City Environment Centre will monitor the quality of swimming water and presence of blue-green algae during the swimming season 15th June and 31st August.

Microbiological quality of swimming water is good at beaches in Helsinki. (dated 9.8.2012)

Blue-green algae has been observed at Munkkiniemi. If blue-green algae are clearly visible it is recommended to avoid swallowing the water and also recommended to take a shower after swimming.
