The Environment Centre provides and distributes reliable and topical information about the state of the environment in order to improve the well-being of the residents and to serve as the basis for decision-making.

Research projects and studies carried out by the Environment Centre are published in Finnish-language publication serie Environment Centre Publications. Some studies were published till year 2007 in serie Environment Centre Papers. Publications generally carry a summary in English.

The Environment Centre also produces guides and leaflets on environmental matters, and materials for environmental education.
