Living allowance is granted as a temporary income support to a person or a family who cannot get a sufficient living with their own income, assets or by other means.
Living allowance is given as a last resort. That’s why a person’s possibilities to get other benefits are sorted out before granting the support. Living allowance is generally granted for one month at a time.
