Social service centres
Social Stations provide services related to social security (including income support) and social change work for adults and families with children.
Services for immigrants offer various integration services such as guidance and counselling. Housing services, health care and medical treatment services are available for asylum seekers.
Employment services
Employment services centre promotes employment to the ill-employable. The Services centre provides customers with employment services and the services of the City of Helsinki and the Social insurance institution (Kela), all under one roof.
Work guidance aims to improve the ability of the unemployed to enter the job market and to enhance their employability by organising practical training, work experiment, working life, coaching and work with employment aid.
Rehabilitation for employment serves people who due to lowered ability to work have difficulties to find their place in the work market or who need other special support services for finding work.
Social rehabilitation
Social rehabilitation services are preventive substance work, non-institutional A-clinics and institutional services Rehabilitation centres for substance abusers.
In addition social rehabilitation includes social services for the homeless and housing services for the mentally unstable.
Services for disabled
Services for disabled are social work, housing services, informal care support (informal care allowance), home care and transportation services. Special care of the mentally disabled includes focused special services like work training, day and work activity services, housing services, temporary care and institutional and family care.
Social services for Swedish speaking
