 24 hour care

24 hour care refers to care provided between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and at weekends in addition to regular day care. 24 hour care is available to parents who have a regular need for it due to their work or studies.

Round-the-clock day care centres are open at all hours of the day every day of the week.

Evening care is provided in certain day care centres between 6:15 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Necessary care hours are agreed with the head of the care unit upon creating the service plan. The care hours are based on the parents' work shifts or study schedules.

When the need for 24 hourcare ends, the child is moved to a non-round-the-clock day care unit.

Round-the-clock daycare centres are on call during the summer and holidays on separate notice.
