The Helsinki Human Resources Centre organizes training in fields in which the City needs new personnel. These fields include social and health care, cleaning industry and catering. The training is conducted either as recruitment training or apprentice training contract.
Recruitment training does not generally lead to a degree, but it gives the trainee qualifications to work in the field. Training lasts from two months to two years. The recruitment trainee does not have an employment contract with the City.
Apprentice training leads to a degree and lasts from one year to three years. The apprentice has an employment contract with the City. In order to become an apprentice, the person must often be unemployed or have a short-term employment.
After the training the City tries to provide employment for individuals who have completed it.
Information on available training can be found at Helsinki web pages, newspapers and at www.mol.fi
