Short-term work at Department of Social Services and Health Care
The Social Services Department and Health Centre have been merged into one department, and a separate department has been established to manage Finnish-language day care. The new Department of Social Services and Health Care and the Department of Early Education and Care started their operations on 1 January 2013. The two new departments will be led by the Social and Health Committee and the Early Education and Care Committee. The Department of Social Services and Health Care employs approximately 15,000 people and the Department of Early Education and Care approximately 5,000 people.
