Next summer, Helsinki will recruit some 4,300 summer employees and substitutes. Summer employees are hired for staff restaurants and kitchens, property maintenance, office duties, hospital maintenance, services for the elderly, home care and other positions. Trained personnel to cover annual leave are required by, for example, the Department of Social Services and Health Care.

Applying for a summer job

Summer jobs at the City of Helsinki are applied for electronically on the recruitment website. The application period for summer 2013 jobs will start on 21 January 2013. Positions will become available throughout the spring, so you should visit the website regularly.

For 16–17-year-olds, there is a separate application period on 11–22 March 2013.
