The operative medical unit of the Helsinki City Rescue Department, together with the emergency unit of the HUCH hospital district and the Helsinki Emergency Response Centre, provides emergency medical care in the capital, as commissioned by the Helsinki City Health Centre (as of 1 January 2013 the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa).
