Accident prevention is a primary focus of the Helsinki City Rescue Department. The control unit of the Rescue Department manages and coordinates the department’s accident prevention projects. The control unit employs fire safety inspectors and safety trainers in four categories. Seppo Sihvonen, Manager of the Control Unit is in charge of the unit.

The fire safety inspector on call (tel. +358 9 310 31203) is ready to help residents of Helsinki with any questions concerning fire safety on weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and from 12 noon to 3.30 p.m.
