The City of Helsinki Education Department provides services for a total of about 64,000 pupils and students. In addition to schools and other educational institutions, information on the Education Department’s services is available from the Information Desk.
Responsibilities and goals
The City of Helsinki Education Department is responsible for general education and for some morning and afternoon care activities for schoolchildren, for Finnish-language vocational education and training, workshop activities and adult education and training, as well as for developing these services in accordance with objectives determined by the Education Committee and the City’s general policies.
