Chamber Music at the City Hall
At the City Hall, for the second time now, the Helsinki Festival presents a concert series where young talented musicians play chamber music on valuable stringed instruments.
This year, Jaso Sasaki, Linda Hedlund, Terhi Paldanius, Antti Tikkanen, Atte Kilpeläinen, Eeva Oksala and Sauli Kulmala are playing in the Chamber Music at the City Hall series. In addition to those, we shall have the opportunity to hear two visiting cellists, Petja Kainulainen and Tomas Nuñez-Garcés, at the last concert of the series.
The valuable instruments are a Ferdidando Gagliano violin (1767), a Testore violin (1730), a Pierre & Hippolyte Silvestre violin (1843), a Stradivarius violin (1702), a Guidantus viola (1737), a Charles Gaillard violin (1737) and a Leonhard Maussiell viola (1722).
The series will begin on Tuesday 24 August and end on 2 September.
The concerts are part of the process of returning the banquet room of the City Hall to the Helsinkians for collective cultural purposes. The chamber music concert series will enable everyone to enter into a room that is no doubt one of the most exquisite banquet facilities in Helsinki.
