Introduction of the Division
Who we are
The Immigration Division's responsibilities include the strategic preparation and planning activities. The division is the authority that specialises in immigration affairs in the City of Helsinki. Our division was established in 2007, and from the beginning it has been a part of the city's Personnel Centre. At the moment, the Immigration Division has 7 employees.
What we do
The duties of the Immigration Division include promoting the overall interests of the city and its inhabitants in all matters related to immigration, immigrants and international migration. The division supports and guides the operations of the city's administrative departments relating to immigrants' integration process and the promotion of equality and communality of all citizens. For whom?
We provide services for the different departments and institutions of the City of Helsinki and for other organisations in the Helsinki area. Besides the City of Helsinki's operators, our cooperation partners include cities and towns in the capital area and other municipalities, the state and non-governmental organisations and enterprises, universities and polytechnics as well as other European cities.
