Specialist in immigration affairs in the City of Helsinki

The task of the Immigration Division is to advance the interests of the city and its inhabitants as regards immigration, immigrants and international migration. The department supports and directs the activities of city departments as regards the social integration of immigrants and the development of activities promoting equality and community spirit among the city people. In addition, the department participates in arranging initial counselling for recent immigrants.

The parties involved in this co-operation, in addition to city officers, are the metropolitan cities and other municipalities, the state and non-governmental organisations and enterprises, as well as other European cities.
