As many as 800 contributors to Helsinki web think tank so far
Listen

Some 800 people have contributed to the City of Helsinki think tank gathering ideas of a better hometown. The web query opened about a week ago invites everybody to offer their ideas and comment on others’ about how the City’s services should be developed, what kind of Helsinki should be built and what action is needed to make the wishes come true.

The think tank underpins the work of decision makers

Mayor Jussi Pajunen invites all residents, visitors, business enterprises and NGO’s. ‘’Participating is worthwhile. The entries will summed up which will provide good material for the preparation of the City’s next strategy programme.’’

The think tank is part of the preparation of the City’s future years’ objectives. Residents’ views and ideas will be exploited in planning the City’s services. The results of the think tank will be used when the City departments and utility companies prepare their proposals for the strategy programme of the next council term 2013 - 2016. The new city council will decide on Helsinki’s objectives and the most important development priorities in spring 2013.

See the Mayor’s invitation on video and contribute to the think tank at www.hel.fi/helsinkiwebthinktank.

It is also possible to join the think tank traditionally in writing in the various branches of the City Library as well as at Virka Info in City Hall. Guidance is also given in participating online.

The web think tank closes on Sunday, June 17, 2012.
