 The Youth park in Pihlajamäki opens the summer season

The biggest Youth park in Finland, Pihlajamäen nuorisopuisto, opens the summer season. The Youth park is opened on Monday 17.5. The park consists of a girls’ park, a freestyle park, a playfield for outdoor games and a café. This summer also the playfield is ready build.  The Youth Park will celebrate its opening on Monday 7.6.

This summer the park has put effort to develop the activities in the girls’ park. There will be different activities for girls varying from dance, arts to beauty treatments and sports. Week 27 is an India-theme week. One hit this summer will probably be the roofed terrace under which one can watch the FIFA World Cup 2010. The freestyle park, which has areas for skateboarding, freestyle- and bmx-riding, will surely also attract visitors from all over Finland because of s its unique DIRT-track and the biggest vert ramp in Finland.

Make media in the park!

Young people have also the ability to take part in the activities of the park, as assistants, event producers or journalists, who will make media about the park in form of photos, video, blogs and articles. There are also several courses held in the park such as a course in skateboarding for girls, scooter course and theater courses. Ask about participating directly from the park.


The park also hosts several events during summer such as the Finnish Masterships in Inline and Freestyle riding, JengipolkuFest and Keskikesän karkelot. Pihlajamäki will also been seen in national media. Youth program Summeri will send direct to TV2 from the park weekdays 7.6.–24.6. 11-12 o’clock.


The youth park is open mon-fri 17.5.–4.6 at 14–20 o’clock and 7.6.–11.8 10–20 o’clock.
