The frequency of the trains
Ruoholahti–Itäkeskus 5 min, during weekday peak times, 4 min.
Itäkeskus–Mellunmäki/Vuosaari 10 min, during weekday peak times, 8 min.
* The Metro operating hours will be extended by two hours on Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday nights. The Metro services will run every 20 minutes on both lines between 11.30pm and 1.30am. This means that there will be a metro train between Ruoholahti and Itäkeskus every 10 minutes. The extended operating hours will be tested until mid-June 2014.
The reliable and frequent metro transportation connects the centre of Helsinki and the eastern parts of the city. Helsinki Metro has 17 stations and 21.1 km of track.
HKL Metro Transport is responsible for operating the transportation and maintaining the track. Almost 62 million passengers are carried annually. The reliability of the transportation is at a very high level, in 2012, 99.89 % of all departures were fulfilled.
